Georgian president, German FM discuss Nato membership issues

Georgia’s Nato membership was on the agenda of President Mikheil Saakashvili’s Thursday meeting with the German foreign minister.

According to a statement by the Georgian Presidential Office, Guido Westerwelle praised the social-economic, political and institutional reforms in the country.

Saakashvili later briefed the German official on the “occupied territories of Georgia”.

Westerwelle had travelled to Tbilisi from Azerbaijan. He is due in Yerevan tomorrow.
