Genocide denial unacceptable – Sarkozy

The French President has promised the local Armenian community representatives to push ahead with his proposal on drafting a new genocide denial criminalization bill.

Nicolas Sarkozy reaffirmed his intention at a meeting with a delegation from the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organisations in France (CCAF) (CCAF), and the Armenian ambassador in Paris, Vigen Chityan.

The French leader particularly said that it is unacceptable to deny the fact of the Armenian Genocide on the territory of France.

The delegation included French-Armenian producer Alen Terzyan, the impresario and friend of Charles Aznavour, Levon Sayan, and a former minister and member of the French People’s Union Party, Patrick Devejian (who has also been a close advisor to Sarkozy).
