Davutoglu visits Armenian Patriarchate in Istanbul

As part of his efforts to establish religious peace in the Middle East and the region, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has started visits to the religious communities of Istanbul.

Yesterday, he had a meeting with the patriarch of the Armenian Community, Archbishop Aram Ateshyan.

Sondakika.com has quoted the Turkish FM as telling reporters after the meeting that Turkey never tolerates ethnic or religious separatism and demonstrates an equal approach to all its citizens.

“We in the Middle East are facing a critical period, one of our key problems being the establishment of a mutual understanding and its reflection in politics,” he said.
