Armenia's national air carrier on strike

le=”text-align: justify; “>The Armenia’s national airline, Armavia, has gone on an open-ended strike.

The airline demands that the Armenia International Airports company, which is serving the Zvartnots international airport, reduce the cost of service, Nana Avetisyan, Press Secretary, Armavia, told Tert.am.

Specifically, in question are passenger facility charges and aircraft maintenance costs. Experts say that the Zvartnots airport is among the world’s most expensive airports.

Gevorg Abrahamyan, Spokesman for the Armenia International Airports company, told Tert. am that the company plans to issue a statement. He noted that Armenia airline has not officially informed the Zvartnots airport of its demands or intention to go on strike.

“They have only told something to passengers,” he said.
