Armenian venerologist on side effects of premature sex

Venerologist Karen Vardanyan recommends young people refrain from having sex until they are 24.

At a news conference on Tuesday, the doctor explained that the human organism undergoes maturity processes until that age – both physically and psychologically.

“It is, of course very individual, and everyone is responsible for himself or herself. But it is necessary to explain to teenagers that they need to do their best to avoid a premature intercourse as that may cause certain problems,” he said.

The expert noted that average age of sex in Armenia is 19.6 (as of 2008).

He further said that he does not encourage distribution of condoms among young people in the streets.
