An activist of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, has criticized the Armenian Communist Party leader for accusing first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan of the March 2008 tragic events.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Yeghiazaryan refused to comment Ruben Tovmasyan’s Friday statement, considering it a biased opinion.
“The March 1 events are known worldwide, and I don’t think anyone, apart from the perpetrators and minor [political] forces, would have spoken like that, accusing innocent people,” he said.
Yeghiazaryan noted that a man considered Armenia’s number one Communist accuses Ter-Petrosyan of devastating the country and reducing it to poverty in the 1990s.
