The opposition alliance Armenian National Congress has criticized a recent decision to reject their nominee’s bid for the upcoming parliament campaign.
It comes after a commission in Electoral District No. 10 refused to register Khachatur Sukiasyan as a candidate for the May 6 parliamentary election.
In a statement issued in that connection, the alliance condemns the move, expressing belief that the Central Election Commission (CEC) too, will follow the district commission’s example, refusing to list the businessman politician on the ANC’s ballot.
At its session on Wednesday the Commission approved the candidacy of the politician’s brother, Saribek Sukiasyan, and two other candidates, Garegin Nushikyan and Gagik Shahnazaryan.
