About 1,000 Armenian captives, missing since Karabakh war

le=”text-align: justify; “>Since the Nagorno-Karabakh war, the number of Armenians held captive in Azerbaijan and considered missing has reached 1,000, with the information on only 90 of them being available now.

“The State Commission for Captives and Hostages has handed over the list with all the information on the 90 people to the International Committee of the Red Cross,” Rima Arakelyan, Chairperson of the Council of the Missing Freedom-Fighters’ Relatives NGO, told journalists on Monday.

She noted with regret that the process of repatriating the Armenian captives from Azerbaijan encounters numerous difficulties.
“Of course, we succeed in returning some people, but such cases are hardly noticed,” Arakelyan said.
