A high-ranking representative of the Russian atomic agency stated in Yerevan that the new energy block at the Armenian nuclear power plant (NPP) to be constructed in Armenia during the upcoming years, will be run by Armenian staff.
"I considered additional safety measures at the NPP. It has a very professional staff, competent experts. I see no reason for Russia's participation in managing the plant. The Metsamor NPP should run the station," said Sergey Kirienko, head of Russia's state-run Rosastom nuclear energy corporation at a briefing on Tuesday.
