At a press conference in Ankara Wednesday, the head of Turkey's Telecommunications Directorate (TİB) Fethi Şimşek said his company acted properly in response to turning over phone records as requested by lawyers representing murdered Armenian newspaper editor Hrant Dink, who was slain in 2007.
Dink's lawyers had requested that the records of all cell-phone conversations made in the area at the time of the journalist's assassination be made court evidence. TIB initially refused, citing legal restrictions.
