Turkey's Minister for European Union Affairs Egemen Bağış says Germany should open its archives to reveal its historic position on whether events in 1915 and following were regarded as "genocide", Germany's Welt Online reports.
Bagis, who has been under investigation by the Swiss, since making comments denying the Armenian Genocide, apparently made the remarks in retort to statements by president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz on Tuesday, who, after a meeting with Bagis told media that the minister should face his country's genocidal past. Schulz, a German, said Turkey "should face your own history and you should allow independent inquiries about your history,"
