Former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian has resigned from the Civilitas Foundation Board, founded by him, reasoning that he has decided to take his own "civic activism to the next responsible step – political activism."
(Civilitas Foundation was founded in 2008, when he resigned from the position of the Foreign Minister of Armenia. The foundation was meant to support the strengthening of Armenia's statehood and "the efforts to become a serious player in societal development.")
A few days ago Oskanian joined Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), and his party membership, according to Oskanian, is the main reason of his resignation from Civilitas Foundation Board.
