le=”text-align: justify;”>On Dec. 5, Armenia’s Parliament adopted the bill on environmental impact assessment.
Although the Parliament held hearings on Dec. 2, it did not wait for a relevant government agency to amend the bill, which made Armenia’s young environmentalists indignant. They got the impression that the government’s goal is to deplete Armenia’s mineral resources in a decade.
“Our nature’s future depends on this law,” the environmentalist Aram Vermishyan told journalists.
Representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Nature Protection, who arrived at the press conference, stressed the importance of the law. They accused the environmentalists of failing to make proposals or of making them too late.
