Ukraine has collected about EUR 550 million to implement Chornobyl projects at the donor conference, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said, according to the Ukrainian news website Un.ua.
He said, Ukraine’s contribution amounted to 29 million euros.
The president called the conference successful and thanked the participants.
In addition, the president noted that Italy, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Bulgaria had not yet decided on the amount that is planned to be allocated for Chornobyl-recovery projects.
“We are anticipating precise proposals as for participation in the Chornobyl fund,” he said.
Yanukovych also said that this year’s contribution was the largest amount in comparison with all previous ones collected at donor conferences.
