Armenia’s human rights defender Karen Adnreasyan says his office is ready to assist individuals complaining about violation of rights.
At a news conference on Tuesday, he introduced the list of government bodies allowing for ombudsman’s intervention. He said the ombudsman’s office, and he personally, can assist individuals provided their rights were violated by the following institutions: State Cadastre, Service for the Compulsory Enforcement of Judicial Acts, police, Prosecutor’s Office, military, penitentiary institutions, State Employment Inspection, Civil Acts Registration Agency, State Revenue Committee, Social Security Service, as well as local self-government bodies.
“The list is not exhaustive, but covers the main spheres that allow for the ombdusman’s assistance,” he said.
