Defense Minister Ohanyan receives Russian general

Armenia’s Defense minister Seyran Ohanyan received Wednesday a top Russian military commander who is in a three day visit in Armenia.

According to a press release by the Defense Ministry, Ohanyan and Colonel General Alexander Postnikov discussed a wide range of issues of mutually interest and planned further activities.

The goal of the visit by Postnikov, the General Commander of Russia’s Ground Forces, is to check up and control the hospitalization of the deployment of Russian troops in Armenia’s territory.

During his visit Postnikov held meetings with high-ranking Armenian military officials.

The visit comes amid Georgia’s decision to vote against the extension of an agreement with Russia that allows using Georgia’s territory for military cargo.
