Criminal Case is Launched To Protect The Armenian Natural Monument

Destruction of Armenia's unique 'Symphony of Stones' natural monument in Garni Gorge, Kotayk province, appears to have been criminalized, after years of rallying for protection by environmentalists and journalists.

The Investigation Department of Kotayk province of the RA Police Chief Investigation Administration, initiated a criminal case (on the bases of "Breach of regime of specially protected nature zones" article of the Armenian Criminal Code) on October 11, based on a letter submitted by the Armenia Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center, which brought factual evidence of the monument's destruction.
