An Armenian-Slovenian business forum was held in Yerevan today, featuring representatives of 50 Slovenian companies representing different spheres of economy. Together with Armenian businessmen they discussed the perspectives of bilateral cooperation. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Armenian Development Agency and the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments.
The commodity turnover between Armenia and Slovenia reached $9.5 million in 2009. The trade between the two countries did not exceed $35 million between 2005 and 2009.
"The indices of economic cooperation between Armenia and Slovenia have increased, but both parties fail to use the existing opportunities in full," said Samuel Zbogar, the Foreign Minister of Slovenia. He voiced hope that the forum would enhance the economic cooperation between the two countries.
