Police Deadline Passes - Situation on Baghramyan Remains Tense

Hundreds of electricity rate hike protesters remain on Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue despite an earlier 30 minute deadline by Armenia’s Pole Chief to leave the area.

That deadline has come and gone.

Police have blocked off the Baghramyan-Moskovyan intersection only allowing people to leave the demonstration. Those wishing to join the protest are being turned away.
