World Federation of Tour Guide Associations discusses establishment of international center in Armenia

World Federation of Tour Guide Associations (WFTGA) is discussing issue on establishing an international education center of tour guides in Armenia.
 
Felicitas Wressnig, the president of the WFTGA, and head of the education department, vice president Wilja Emile Siebe arrived in Armenia with that aim.
 
Speaking to reporters today, Wressnig said they are going to conduct 8-week-long surveys in Armenia after which a final decision will be presented to the Executive Board.
 
"Only after it we will present our decision to the Armenian side. If the center is established the tour guides will conduct classes here. Those who will take part in our classes will get our certificate and their qualities will correspond to international standards," she said, adding that one of the goals of establishing the center is the establishment of inter-cultural communication.
 
Head of Tourism Department at Armenia's Economy Ministry Mekhak Apresyan said there are many high-quality specialists in Armenia corresponding to international criteria but it is necessary to follow the developments in the sphere.
 
"It will be an establishment of regional and local significance that will prepare a high-quality staff. It is one of the main issues in Armenia," he said.
