The government today appointed Feliks Tsolakyan as the new Regional Governor (Marzpet) of Shirak.
He had been serving as the Deputy Head of the National Security Service.
Tsolakyan once headed Armenia's State Tax Service.
Recently Shirak Governor Ashot Giziryan resigned and the move was linked by many to the poor performance of President Serzh Sargsyan in the region in the February 18 presidential election.
