Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian took a calm view of a recent statement made by a Russian general who announced the possibility of Russian commandos being dispatched to Armenia for implementing "combat" tasks if necessary as he answered a media question at a press conference today.
The Armenian official said he saw no reason for "emotionality" in this regard.
Lieutenant-general Vladimir Shamanov last week cited an instruction from Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to make considerations for the use of Airborne Troops as a rapid reaction force outside of Russia "in the event of an increased need for efficient implementation of tasks to prevent crises."
