The Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party has urged its supporters to join the rally that another opposition party, Heritage, will be holding near the Monument to Myasnikian on March 1.
The area became one of the major scenes of deadly pitched battles between protesters and security personnel in the wake of the disputed presidential election five years ago. Ten people, including eight civilians, were killed on March 1-2, 2008.
Earlier the ANC had notified the Yerevan Municipality of its intention to organize a public rally in Liberty Square on that day.
