Raffi Hovannisian, currently leading a nation-wide protest against the outcome of the February 18 presidential election, has indicated his readiness to hold another meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan, with whom he met last week but was dissatisfied with the president's responses to his demands.
Meeting with citizens in the provincial town of Masis as part of his Tuesday tour of Armenia's southern provinces Hovannisian said such a meeting could be instrumental in finding a way out of the current post-election crisis.
Last Thursday Hovannisian went to a meeting with Sargsyan in the presidential compound where the two leaders talked behind closed doors for more than an hour. The following day, the Heritage Party head said all of his offers of compromise, including the possibility of holding a repeat presidential election or snap parliamentary elections based solely on party-list representation, had been rejected.
