Criminal case filed against community head for giving election bribe

A criminal case has been filed against head of Varagavan village of the Armenian province of Tavush for giving election bribe amounting to 5,000 AMD to the resident of the same village.
 
Suren Manucharyan, the resident of the village, reported to Armenia's Police Division of Tavush that on February 17, 2013 the head of the same community Samvel Manucharyan gave him bribe amounting to 5,000 AMD in the municipality to vote for the candidate preferred by the head of the village at the elections of RA President on February 18, 2013.
 
A criminal case was initiated in Special Investigation Service under Part 2 of the Article 154-2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A preliminary investigation is under way.
