Rocking Spirit: “Lav Eli=?UTF-8?B?4oCdIA==?=separated by life but together in music

The last parliamentary and presidential elections in Armenia (in 2007-2008, respectively) saw not only the revival of civil society, but also the return of a popular Armenian rock band of the 1990s with its soloist's participation in public events, delivering speeches at opposition rallies.

"I believe that since 2007 some spark has been set off, an attempt at stirring up self-consciousness, and back then I was caught by that wave too. It was a very inspiring and productive period of time, music seemed to have come alive again," says Mher Manukyan, singer and guitarist of 'Lav Eli' Armenian folk rock band.

The rock band was founded in 1997 by a group of four young musicians in Vanadzor, Armenia's northern Lori province.
