NATO has no plans and intentions to be involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, a special representative of the alliance has said.
News.az has quoted James Appathurai as saying that there are concerns about the current Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process spearheaded by the OSCE Minsk Group.
“Only within the last few weeks we have heard here at NATO Headquarters the statements from the presidents that they are committed to the peace process”, he said.
According to Appathurai, the bellicose rhetoric between the parties, each of which is increasing its military potential has recently intensified.
“This region does not receive the attention it deserves from the international media,” Apathurai said, stressing the importance of the South Caucasus as a supplier and a transit region.
