Destination Brazil: Armenia soccer boss reveals World Cup 2014 ambitions

Ruben Hayrapetyan, the head of Armenia's Football Federation (FFA), has explained his decision not to seek reelection to parliament by his full commitment to soccer affairs.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Hayrapetyan, who is a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and currently a lawmaker in the outgoing parliament, stressed that otherwise he would not be able to focus on his primary task – to take the national team to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

Hayrapetyan said the objective had been set by Serzh Sargsyan, the leader of the RPA and president of Armenia.

"Our eventual goal is to see our team in Brazil," the FFA president stressed.
