Construction of a military school has been launched in Karabakh as part of broader efforts to step up the second Armenian republic's future security.
According to news agency Armenpress, the school will bear the names of 18th- and 19th-century military commanders in Tsarist Russia Alexander Suvorov and Valerian Madatov (both hailing from Armenian families).
Suvorov cadet schools were very popular among boys aged 14-18 in Soviet times.)
The coordinator of the project is Karabakh war hero Major-General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan, better known as Commandos. According to him, the idea of the project belongs to Russia-based businessman Levon Hayrapetyan, a native of Karabakh, who will finance the work.
