Armenia's opposition bloc says it is ready, in principle, to join forces with any others whose aim in next February's presidential election is to un-seat incumbent Serzh Sargsyan.
At a press conference Monday Aram Manukyan, Armenian National Movement Party Board Chairman and Armenian National Congress' (ANC) National Assembly Faction Secretary, said his faction is "trying to create an environment for ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan to nominate his candidacy", but hinted at other options.
If Ter-Petrosyan's candidacy is not achieved, "any option can be discussed, both inside and outside the ANC, he said.
Asked whether the opposition bloc is ready to cooperate with the "alternative" party, Prosperous Armenia (PAP), Manukyan said: "If PAP has some support and stands for an opposition or anti-government coalition, I welcome that."
