Dashnaktsutyun takes parliament majority to Ethics Committee over controversial boycott

The parliamentary faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) has lodged a complaint with the Parliamentary Ethics Committee over the conduct of representatives of two coalitional parties constituting the majority in the National Assembly that effectively boycotted a recent special session convened by a third of members.

Lawmakers of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and its junior coalition partner Orinats Yerkir – jointly controlling 75 out of 131 parliament seats – did not attend the November 21 meeting called by the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction and seconded by the three other minority groups, including Dashnaktsutyun, to discuss a raft of legal amendments related to the upcoming presidential election.
