Ruling party rep comments on Prosperous Armenia=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s ‘political alternative=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=

On his Facebook page, Samvel Farmanyan, ex-spokesman for Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan and member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group, asks about the "real alternatives" so frequently mentioned by the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), urging the party to present its political orientation.Five months have passed since the PAP declared itself "a political alternative" and has since been trying to form its "transitional political identity." It should be noted, however, that this "identity" may be forgotten even before it has "become full-fledged." Of course, the party's mouthpieces voicing "personal opinion" made numerous comments on how it can be possible. "Let us agree, however, that time is needed to grasp – or fail to do it – this new phenomenon in world history," Farmanyan writes. What are the aspects the PAP is an "alternative" in? If it is really so, it should first of all be the much-talked-of fiel d, namely, the RPA's foreign policy. To prove its being a political alternative the PAP has, at least in this field, to present its approaches to the key issues of Armenia's foreign and national security policy.(1) What is the party's position on Armenian-Russian relations in the context of the bilateral and multilateral agenda;(2) What is the party's position on the Armenia-EU relations, as well as on Armenia's relations with other European structures;(3) What is the party's position on the Armenia-US relations;(4) What are the party's approaches to integration within the post-Soviet space;(5) What are the party's approaches to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict;(6) What is the party's position on Armenian-Turkish relations;(7) What are the party's approaches to strategic and security priorities;(8) What are the party's approaches to regional security and problems, existing conflicts and Armenia's relations with Iran and Georgia; That is the shortest list of Armenia's foreign policy and strategic priorities on which the statement of the PAP's official position would enable experts and journalists to compare the real worth of the PAP's "political alternative" with the pro-government and opposition political forces. On the other hand, Armenian authorities' approaches to the aforementioned questions have repeatedly been stated by Armenia's president and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Farmanyan writes.
