Georgia's newly-elected parliament has met in the city of Kutaisi on Sunday to elect a speaker and form parliamentary majority and minority parties.
According to Newsgeorgia.ru, the new parliament's opening session is attended by President Mikheil Saakashvili, Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, as well as representative of diplomatic missions accredited to Georgia. Georgian Dream coalition leader Bidzina Ivanishvili is also said to be present at the meeting.
Despite the coalition members' earlier criticism of the plan to move the parliament to Kutaisi the new parliament will continue its activities in the second largest city.
