Barcelona FC player Martin Montoya has been accused of theft by a Madrid taxi driver after allegedly taking his wallet, Sportsterra.com reported.
The act is said to have taken place on October 17 at 8:30 am while the player was staying there as he trained with the Spain’s U-21 team training.
The defender took the cab from the Hotel TRYP Alamaeda to the T4 Barajas airport. The driver noticed his wallet missing just minutes later, and he attempted to enter the hotel’s reception in search of the soccer player.A member of the national team gave him Montoya’s personal number, after insisting that it was the player who had forgotten something on the vehicle and he wanted to return it. The driver then called the player and left a message on his voicemail.A few minutes later, a person that identified himself as the player’s representative, called the taxi driver to say the Spanish international would return the money, but not the wallet and insisted that he not speak with the media. Finally, the driver decided to make the formal accusation against the defender Montoya and his agent for the threats.
