ArmProd EXPO 2012 annual exhibition opens in Armenia=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s capital

The ArmProd EXPO 2012 annual exhibition has opened in Yerevan.The exhibition has been organized by Armenia's Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A). Food and beverage producers and suppliers from Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) are participating in the exhibition.Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan addressed a welcoming message to the participants."Agriculture is the engine of this year's economic growth. The situation has essentially improved in the agricultural sector. Such exhibitions facilitate the development of production. Our aim is to assist local enterprises in finding new sales markets," the Armenian premier's message says.Armenia's premier walked round the exhibition halls and tasted the products. He cut the longest, 3-meter-long, sausage one of the meat packing plants is displaying at the exhibition.More than 50 companies– producers of groceries, mi lk, hard drinks – are participating in the exhibition. Small and medium enterprises are participating along with the leaders.The participants reported a 20% increase in output this year. Many of the companies have doubled the output and raised wages.The exhibition will last until October 21.
