Armenia's Premier Tigran Sargsyan received on Tuesday Professor Ara Warkes Darzi, Member of Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council and member of the Board of Trustees, National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia.Mr Darzi participated in the foundation laying ceremony of the Armenian Centre of Excellence in Oncology (ACEO) on Tuesday."We are happy about your cooperating with the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia. It was established following the principle of the government-private sector cooperation not only to enhance Armenia's competitiveness, but also to realize the Armenian people's full potential. Our first long-term goal is educational reforms. The second, short-term, goal is tourism," Armenia's premier said.The Foundation's activities will henceforth be aimed at facilitating transnational companies' entry to Armenia and promotion of small and medium businesses.Mr Darzi thanked Armenia's premier for a warm reception. He agrees w ith the Armenian government's view of the Foundation's further activities and expressed his willingness to contribute to them as a member of the board of trustees.The sides discussed reforms of Armenia's healthcare system. Mr Darzi presented the international experience and informed the premier of his meeting with Armenia's Minister of Health Derenik Dumanyan, when they discussed a wide range of issues and prospects for cooperation.Mr Darzi is also participating in a Public Health Seminar organized in cooperation with the American University of Armenia.
