Turkey's Supreme Military Council has dismissed 56 generals and admirals.According to APA News Agency, the reason was the absence of posts corresponding to their ranks and the fact that the above servicemen had attained the maximum age for serving in the military.Under the Council's decision, 29 generals and admirals were promoted, 47 colonels were granted the rank of general and admiral and the military term of 33 generals and admirals was prolonged for one year. According to another decision, Galib Mendi received the rank of general and he was appointed to the post of an army commander.
