Armenia=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s criminal code to be amended

Armenian government approved today the draft on making changes in Armenia's criminal code.
 
According to the government's press release, the draft has been prepared to replace the old one acting for already ten years while a number of changes have occurred in social and political life of the country.
 
The draft is aimed at reinforcing criminal-judicial guarantees of human rights protection, balancing public and private interests, increase the role of courts and make criminal trial in accordance with international standards.
 
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said the prosecutor general's office, Armenia's police and Central Bank should discuss the document before presenting it to the National Assembly.
