The opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) intends to take part in the forthcoming presidential election by nominating ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Guren Yeghiazaryan, an ANC member, told Tert.am.The ANC will celebrate its victory, that is, the people's victory, he said. With respect to the ANC not participating in the forthcoming local elections, Yeghiazaryan spoke of "limitless election frauds during local elections." "For this reason I believe the ANC's participation has no sense," he said.As regards the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) supporting Samvel Balasaryan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), who is running for Gyumri mayor, Yeghiazaryan said that the ANC is preparing for the presidential election and is thus seeking support."First, after any elections people leave Armenia and seek asylum in foreign countries. Election bribes distributed during any election are reimbursed through price rise within a couple of weeks. The RP A is seeking ways of getting votes. They are supporting a PAP candidate to retain power. During the presidential election, election bribes will reach $200 to $300 because they are well aware that, should they lose power, they are going to be held responsible for a number of crimes and have to return what they have plundered," Yeghiazaryan said.Presidential election is to be held in Armenia next February.
