European Union Doesn=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=t Recognize Legitimacy of Artsakh Presidential Election

Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission issued the following statement on Jul 18:

“On 19 July, ‘presidential elections’ will take place in Nagorno-Karabakh.

I would like to reiterate that the European Union does not recognise the constitutional and legal framework in which they will be held. These ‘elections’ should not prejudice the determination of the future status of Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiated general framework of the peaceful settlement of the conflict.  Read more...
