Armenia's top chess women, Elina Danielyan and Lilit Mkrtchyan played to a draw Tuesday in the first round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix chess tournament in Jermuk.
In other matches: Koneru Humpy of India defeated Zhao Xue of China; reigning World Champion Hou Yifan drew against Batkhuyag Munguntuul of Mongolia; Ekaterina Kovalevskaya of Russia defeated fellow countrywoman Nadezhda Kosinteva.
The tournament in the southern resort town has attracted some of the world's top female chess players – from India, China, Russia, Georgia — and will run through the weekend.
