Armenia not for ‘Nemets Rubo and others of his ilk=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=- activists

The march that followed the funeral of military surgeon Vahe Avetyan in Yerevan's Zeitun community has just finished in front of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.Through a loudspeaker the participants in the action urged the people to join the struggle against the "authorities-sponsored oligarchic system."Among about 200 people participating in the march were active members of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), Heritage party, Sardarapat movement, as well as representatives of Armenia's civil society.The protestors were crying out "Nemets is a murderer!" (Nemets is the nickname of President of the Football Federation of Armenia, MP of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Ruben Hairapetyan), "I am Vahe Avetyan!"Speaking in front of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, Garegin Chukaszyan, a Sardarapat movement member, said that the march was "just the start." "Today we are all arranging to continue our actions until Nemets Rubo and others of his ilk are driven into financial and moral bankruptcy and come to realize that Armenia is not their country, but a country of free citizens!"On June 17, Vahe Avetyan was mercilessly beaten by security guards of the Harsnakar restaurant, owned by President of the Football Federation of Armenia, MP of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RAP) Ruben Hairapetyan. Despite doctors' efforts to save his life, the 33-year-old surgeon, father of two children died after he was in a coma for 12 days.
