Violence in Armenia is not restricted to incidents amounting to a criminal offense, Lilit Galstyan, an ex-lawmaker of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D), told Tert.am, commenting on the recent incident in Harsnaqar restaurant.
"For me, an act of violence extends to the methodical actions against Yerevan's urban development plan, the existing inequality before the law, the [policies] that have reduced 36% of our population to poverty, the monopolies and the moral-psychological type of oligarchs. What we see on air also constitutes violence," she said, stressing the importance of sanitizing the Armenian reality both morally and politically.
A recent scuffle in Harsnaqar restaurant left Major Vahe Avetyan, the head of the ENT Department at Yerevan’s Garrison hospital, seriously injured. He was hospitalized with skull injuries and later operated on, but his condition remains critical to date. Recent media reports said that doctors at the hospital no longer inspire any hopes of recovery and cannot but rely on a miracle.
