Talking to Tert.am, Artashes Geghamyan, an MP of the Republican Party of Armenia, Head of the Armenian delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), said that he knows English better that some individuals know their mother tongue. Evidence thereof is a video record posted on the RPA official website, he added."You can see the speeches I delivered in Strasbourg and Vienna. Of course, I cannot speak with the London accent, but, being modest, I noted in the form that I could explain myself with the help of a dictionary," Geghamyan said. Some newspapers claimed that, in delivering his speeches abroad, Geghamyan was reading English texts transliterated into Russian.Geghamyan is preparing for a plenary session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to be held July 4 to 9. He intends to propose that the OSCE PA General Committee on Political Affairs and Security replace the controversial point in its draft resolution.Points 11 and 12 of the draft m ention the principle of territorial integrity, without, however, mentioning any particular countries.Geghamyan's proposal is that, in accordance with the Helsinki Final Act, peoples' right to self-determination, as well as other international legal norms, be mentioned.
