Armenia-Russia friendship monument to be unveiled in Russian Vologda

Monument of friendship between Russian and Armenian peoples will be unveiled in the Russian town of Vologda.

On June 25 a cross-stone symbolizing ancient-long friendship between the two peoples will be unveiled in the town, a Russian news source reported.

The new monument will appear in a square on a crossroad. It will be a stele from red stone.The cross-stone has been prepared by Armenian masters with the funds gathered by Vologda regional organization – Union of Armenians of Vologda.

The organizers say the monument will be a sign of willingness to reinforce inter-state ties.

Representatives of local authorities, Russian Orthodox Church and public organizations will attend the event.
