Tymoshenko stops hunger strike, says German doctor

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has stopped the hunger strike, Interfax reported, citing German doctor Lutz Harms from the Charite clinic, who is treating Tymoshenko.

“Today I inspected my patient and made a certain treatment plan. We shall start removing her from the state of hunger strike gradually. First it will be water and juices, later she will start taking solid food,” said Harms who is treating Tymoshenko at a central clinic hospital.

Over the next few days Tymoshenko will reportedly undergo physiotherapy and treatment procedures, Harms said. Drug treatment will start later.

Commenting on the ex-premier’s health condition, he said: “It is not much different from what it was in prison.”
