“Paternalism is a good seller in Armenia-like countries. Other ‘-isms,’ such as socialism, liberalism, are poor sellers. People do not read programs, even if they are available. People are not in the habit of pondering. Preferring certain ideologies implies a certain level of political culture. In Europe, people choose between liberty and justice, between liberalism and socialism. What’s better, more justice or more liberty. This is an ideological confrontation. Parties’ positions are as follow: ‘I am for greater freedom’ or ‘I am for greater equality.’ We can see an interesting tendency in Europe now: the Left are coming to power.  Read more...
