Costa Concordia owners settle €2 million on survivors

Costa Concordia cruise liner which ran aground off the coast of Italy in January have paid more than two million euros to some of the French survivors, Euronews reported.

The settlement amounts to 9,000 Euros each for 235 individuals. Another 180 French nationals had earlier accepted 11,000 euros in exchange for dropping any legal action.

Thirty-two people were killed on the night of January 13 when the Costa Concordia capsized with over 3,000 passengers on board.
Owners Costa Crociere face scores of law suits by survivors of the disaster while prosecutors in Italy are investigating nine people including the captain and three executives.
