Azerbaijani villages suffer heavy flooding

orrents have caused a great damage to several villages in Azeerbaijan.


According to Vesti.az, the villages of Chol Goylar, Ovcholu and Bagirli came under heavy waters earlier today.

The chief of a regional emergencies commission, Gasim Gasimov, said the heavy rains had raised the level of the Agsu and Pirsaat rivers, cutting the connection with several villages. The waters have damaged several roads, including the highway between Shamakhi and Galeybugurt.

The torrent in the village of Charkhan was reportedly accompanied by hailstones fall that affected fruit gardens and the grape harvest.

A resident of the Ovchulu village, Bilal Allamedov , is said to have died in the torrent.
