The paper says it has learned from sources that the upper circles of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) are now disputing the election results.
Several members of the alliance reportedly believe that agreeing to go to parliament after such polls could eventually discredit them. Those supporting this view ask their elected colleagues to waive their mandates, claims the paper.
It says further that ANC leader and first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s decision to give up his mandate in favor of ex-Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan has held back the leader of the Republic party, Aram Sargsyan, from drastic steps, despite his earlier promises not to go to parliament.
